Completion / workover fluids: Protects oil and gas formations, preventing damage to reservoirs from solid particles and filtrate.
Shale inhibition: Encapsulates drill cuttings, inhibits shale hydration and dispersion, and stabilizes the wellbore.

Polyanionic cellulose (PAC) is an anionic water-soluble cellulose ether, used as a highly effective viscosifier and fluid loss additive inoilfield drilling fluids.It can significantly reduce mud cake permeability and improve flow pattern.
